D cards have become quite a common item in many businesses today. You can find a wide variety of ID cards from the simple photo badge to the smart card. Photo Id cards are used primarily for physical verification by stationed security guards. This type of card is the simplest and least expensive choice of the ID cards. It normally has the name and photograph of the person along with any special access right that the person has been granted.
The more advanced smart ID cards can have a bar code, magnetic strip, or a proximity chip. This type of ID card is used to automate access control and to provide employee tracking. These systems tend to be more expensive and require programming by trained personnel.
